历史沿革[edit]
村名因位于梅江淤积坝的中心。据博雅地名网，村子始建于南宋时期，土改时自梓皋乡分出，此后一直分坝心、石下两片，1999年成立坝心村民委员会。[1]
该村清代属长乐县七都约；民国属五华县河口乡；1950年代属水寨区、水寨公社；1978年属梓皋公社；1983年属大坝区；2000年属大坝镇；2004年属水寨镇。[2]
传统民居与祠堂[edit]
村内传统民居以客家民居为主，现存7座，包括乐善楼、理学流芳等，另有斌德楼、嘉善楼、近珠楼、忠信楼和石下老屋。乐善楼始建于宋元时期，占地约200平方米，上三间、下三间，是刘氏家族的主要宗祠；理学流芳始建于元朝，占地约800平方米，上七间、中三间、下七间，带一层围龙，是蔡氏家族的主要宗祠；斌德楼始建于明朝，1999年重修，占地约600平方米；石下老屋始建于明朝，1923年重修，占地约2300平方米，为上五间、下七间、两栋横屋的大型围龙屋，共102间房。[2]
联珠塔[edit]
联珠塔在坝心村珠光山，清嘉庆十七年（1812年）动工，薛、刘等十个姓氏的乡民集资兴建，用来纪念薛特拔中举及第。塔为八角五层楼阁式砖石结构，高22米，占地约169平方米，塔顶有葫芦状石刹。1984年10月被五华县列入首批重点文物保护单位，梅州市人民政府又于2020年3月13日将它升为第七批市级文物保护单位；2000年曾抢救维修。[3][4]
宗族活动与人物[edit]
每年腊月二十五至除夕，各户登山拜祖；正月初九至十五，各姓按祖屋的传统日子迎灯、接灯、上灯，晚上放孔明灯和烟花。[2]
村里有抗美援朝烈士刘金祥（1950年11月28日牺牲）；刘履磐，光绪七年（1881年）中进士，生卒年不详。[2]
