相传此处有射箭场，原称箭坪，后因“箭”“荐”同音而改作荐坪[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

荐坪大队自1961年公社化起隶属砂田公社；1987年撤区改乡后设荐坪管理区；1999年春起建制为荐坪村村民委员会[1]。

人口与经济[edit]

村情材料记载，在册317户、1654人，总面积6.8平方千米，耕地约412亩；农户靠水稻、生猪和外出打工谋生，村集体靠出租土地取得收入；上一年农村经济总收入498万元[1]。
