上坪村在梅州市大埔县光德镇，辖6个村民小组，有223户、1040人，总面积5.39平方公里，耕地328亩。先民迁来时见到一块开阔的坪地，地势高于邻近的富岭，故名上坪。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年以前归富岭乡，其间1960年划入大埔林场，到1964年才成为光德公社的上坪大队。1983年底设光德区，为区辖上坪乡，1986年底称镇属上坪村；1988年称管理区，1998年起设村民委员会。[1]

2019年9月，上坪村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2026年3月被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]
