北坑村是梅州市大埔县高陂镇北部山区的行政村，人口在镇内各村中居前。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村北有一条从帽山流出的坑水，弯曲多湾，有「北坑溪九曲十三湾，曲曲水流东」的说法，因此叫北坑。明代曾名鳖坑，清代称北坑。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明代属清远都平原社，清代属清远都源高甲，民国归高陂区平北乡。1958年10月归高陂公社，设北坑生产大队，1961年3月划入平原公社，1983年12月改设平原区北坑乡，1998年起称村民委员会，2004年后隶高陂镇。[1]

经济与荣誉[edit]

村辖30个村民小组，在册950户、3753人，总面积8.1平方千米，耕地1924亩，所载上一年农村经济总收入3117万元。村里有一座水电站，另办红肉柚基地，发展蜜柚小庄园10处，种红肉柚2000株以上。2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位，2021年12月获评「2021年广东省卫生村」。[1]
