长沙墟镇社区是梅州市梅江区长沙镇唯一的居民社区，即长沙墟所在的居委会，镇政府驻此。[1]

概况[edit]

据博雅地名网所载的社区介绍，社区分三个片，设1个居民小组，在册428户、805人。墟上的街道长近300米、宽约5米，农历逢三、六、九赶集。[1]

社区先后投入100多万元，把墟镇的道路全部铺成水泥路，并装设路灯、组建环卫队伍上门收集生活垃圾。2010年，社区获“梅州市生态居委”称号。[1]

地名由来[edit]

梅江河道逐年积沙，沿岸出现大片沙滩，称长沙坝，地名因此而来。[2]
