长宁社区是惠州市博罗县长宁镇的镇中心区社区，2002年起设社区居民委员会。[1]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，十九世纪三十年代游、杨两姓先在石下屯办石麟墟，又因宗族纠纷另办东平墟，每逢墟期常出乱子；两姓后来把墟场迁到现址，盼它长久安宁，便叫长宁。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区所在的长宁乡在1949年10月隶第四区，之后几年先改隶第五区（1951年3月），再改隶第十一区（1952年7月）。长宁1955年10月并入铁场区，1956年11月又从铁场乡分出，恢复为乡；1958年10月办起长宁人民公社，1983年11月划入长宁区，1986年归长宁镇。2002年起为长宁镇长宁社区居民委员会。[1]
