历史沿革[edit]

据地名资料，这里宋代属金锡都，处在前方的边防地带，当地习惯把前方一带叫作「下边」，村名由此而来。[1]

清代属善政巡司署，民国属八德乡，中华人民共和国成立后隶属八区博罗县湖镇乡。2019年9月，下边村名列「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
