清同治九年（1870年），淡塘属马安约堡。1999年成立淡塘村民委员会。[2][1]

地名由来[edit]

相传邹姓、郑姓先人常在鱼塘边闲谈，当地又地阔荒凉、人少冷清，故名淡塘。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，淡塘村在「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单中。[1]
