历史沿革[edit]
1950年设老围下公社，1974年改称大队，后称管理区，1999年撤区设村，成立老围下村民委员会。[2]
地名由来[edit]
大队部设在老新队，那里原是一座平缓的小丘，又名大草坪。黄姓先人最早住在草坪西面，称老屋；一房人住在东面，房屋建成围龙形，称围龙屋；另一房人住在北面，叫下龙里。三个自然村合起来，得名老围下。[3]
