地名由来与沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，解放前这里分为四个自然村，各称一座“城门”，解放后几个村合并，其中东城门一支较大，社区因此得名东联。[1]社区居民委员会是依照省、市关于推进社区建设的文件在西区街道设立的。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，东联社区列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单；2024年12月被评为惠州市2024年度绿色社区。[1]
