播植镇属广东省肇庆市德庆县，在县境东部：东面是高要区，南面是悦城镇，西面是凤村镇和永丰镇，北面隔着武垄镇。镇政府离县城约67千米。[1]2021年10月时，全镇有1个社区和10个行政村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网的沿革记录说，明弘治年间（1488年至1505年）这里已经建村。新中国成立之初，辖地先属第二区、第三区，1950年4月划入第四区，1956年成沙村乡。[2]1958年10月，今播植、凤村、武垄一带合办东风公社；次年6月播植另立公社；1983年改称区，1986年年底撤区建镇。[2]

圩市的出现较晚：清咸丰八年（1858年）在播植村旁设埠，叫播植埠，民国2年（1913年）改称播植圩，镇名即由此而来。[2]播植社区的介绍提到，“播植”出自壮语，“播”是坡，“植”用汉语原义，合起来指宜耕的山坡。[3]

镇境群山环绕。博雅地名网转录的概况称，全镇设10个村委会、72个村民小组，面积115.3平方千米，2000年末人口16727。[4]百度百科的面积为80.01平方千米，人口取2019年末户籍数20797人，两处口径不同。[1]

经济[edit]

概况里列出的农业特色有四项：玉桂、沙糖桔、优质稻米和佛手。玉桂基地2万亩，佛手1200亩，沙糖桔等水果4800亩，稻田2万亩、年产7200吨。工业企业涉及食品、木制品和塑胶。[4]2019年，镇内工业企业14家，超过50平方米的综合商店或超市2家。[1]

2022年10月，省农业农村厅把播植镇列为“一村一品、一镇一业”专业镇，产业是肉鸽。[2]2026年3月，它又入选「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」。[2]
