五和镇在广东省肇庆市广宁县的南部，北面是横山镇，东面是宾亨镇，西面与德庆县交界，南面与高要区的乐城镇、河台镇相邻。[1]下设1个社区、6个行政村，属革命老区。[1][2]关于镇名，当地有两种说法：其一，由五条河水汇合而成；其二，是五片村落的合称，寓意“五地结体，和衷共济”。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

在清道光年间，今镇域归广宁县田心铺管辖。进入民国后，1921年设第六区五和乡，1930年划入第四区，1937年撤区、改设徐宽乡，1946年为第三指导区江布乡。[2]新中国成立当年的12月，此地为第五区；1956年2月，分设五和、横岗两乡。1958年9月并入宾亨，组成宾亨人民公社，10月广宁、四会两县合并后隶属广四县。1961年五和另立人民公社，1983年改为区，1986年11月改建为镇，至今未变。[2]百度百科的记载有出入：称1979年已有五和公社，1987年4月撤区建镇。[1]

地理环境[edit]

镇域离广州约120千米，离肇庆约60千米，省道江禄线（S263）从中穿过。[3]博雅地名网引用的镇情材料称，全镇面积116.32平方千米，山地14.7万亩，耕地1.12万亩；年均气温20至22摄氏度，日照约1600小时，雨量约1750毫米，森林覆盖率逾八成。[3]

经济[edit]

当地以竹子闻名，竹林面积5066.2公顷（该材料的统计年份为2004年前后）；另有肉桂林5万多亩、马水桔约2000亩、沙塘桔约1000亩，还栽种竹笋、佛手、青榄、山楂和红枣。[3]全镇有水电站15座，装机合计2800多千瓦，矿产有石英、锡矿、钼铌矿等。[3]2004年工农业总产值为17816万元，工业占13216万元，农业占4600万元。[3]据百度百科，2019年农业总产值3.44亿元，较上年增长8%。[1]

荣誉[edit]

肇庆市曾授予五和镇「无毒镇」「肇庆市普及九年义务教育工作优秀镇」等称号。[3]2026年3月，辖内的江布村和镇源村入选「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村镇」。[2]
