城东街道是广东省肇庆市端州区下辖的街道，因位于端州区东面而得名，是区政府所在的街道，下辖18个社区。[1]2020年第七次全国人口普查时，街道人口为17.23万人，在端州区各街道中居第二位。[1]阅江楼、崇禧塔和七星岩的景区一带，都与街道的社区相关。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，这一带属东厢。民国时期，东厢乡在1935年7月改为肇市镇，剩下的部分并入中屯乡，到1940年中屯乡再分出城东乡。[1]

街道的前身是肇庆市东区：1958年3月设此区后，名称几经变化，先是1961年的肇庆镇南公社，1972年恢复为东区，1988年成为端州区东区，直到2010年才改设为街道。[1]

办事处的介绍称，街道曾提出“工业兴办、三产旺办”的发展思路，引进了大型商超、连锁餐饮和多家房地产企业，并引进了2家五星级酒店，国、地两税入库在2007年、2008年连续两年超过1.6亿元。[2]厚岗、岩前、景山岗等由村改设的社区，集体收入已转向以出租商铺、厂房等物业为主。[1]

办事处的介绍称，街道此前获得“广东省先进基层党组织”“肇庆市红旗基层党组织”称号，2009年被命名为第六批“全国城市体育先进社区”；到2008年底，共建成安全文明小区48个；各社区均获「文明社区」称号，文明社区还是广东省文明示范社区，塔脚社区则获评广东省平安和谐先进社区。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

阅江楼位于正东路、西江北岸，社区以楼得名。该楼所在的石头岗，南宋隆兴年间建过石头庵，明崇祯十四年（1641年）由两广总督张镜心改建，定名阅江楼；1925年叶挺独立团在此成立，1962年被公布为广东省级文物保护单位，2019年10月入选第八批全国重点文物保护单位。[4]

崇禧塔在塔脚路石顶岗，始建于明万历十年（1582年），万历十三年竣工，高57.5米，外观九层、内分十七层，1962年被公布为广东省级文物保护单位。塔脚社区和古塔社区都以此塔得名。[5][6]

岩前社区在七星岩景区南大门，西、南两面濒星湖，北面是七星岩。博雅地名网把七星岩一带的景点列为城东街道的旅游景点。[1]七星岩占地8.23平方千米，主体由七座石灰岩山峰组成；据百度百科，2020年肇庆市星湖旅游景区（含七星岩景区和鼎湖山景区）被确认为国家5A级旅游景区。[3]
