村里的作物，以水稻为主；村民约4557人，辖区面积16.0平方千米[1]。

年均气温16.90℃，年降水量约1832毫米，属南亚热带季风型气候[1]。

地名由来[edit]

太平天国时期，清军驻扎在营地岗，在这里架炉打铁、修造枪支，村名由此而来[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

铁炉村的建制变化依次是：1960年为大队，1983年改作乡，1986年前后组建村民委员会，1989年设管理区办事处，1999年定为现名，1960年由两处合并而成[1]。

荣誉[edit]

  • 2019年12月，名列「第一批国家森林乡村」[1]
  • 2021年9月，名列「第二批广东省一村一品、一镇一业专业村」（百香果）[1]
