南盛街道是广东省茂名市化州市下辖的街道，位于化州市东北部，处在鉴江中游平原，辖区约44.36平方千米，2019年末总人口4.1万人。[1]街道由原南盛镇于2003年11月改设而来，现辖1个社区和6个行政村。[1][2]其东北一带与茂南区、高州市交界，207国道和茂化公路经过境内。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

清代，今街道一带分属高州府的化州与茂名县。民国时期设龙庆乡、联德乡，前者属化县一区，后者属茂名县二区。[1][4]

1953年，乐堂、蒲山、山尾三乡属化县四区（驻山尾），荔枝塘、干塘尾二乡属茂名县十区（驻金塘圩）；1956年，南盛乡改属茂名县石鼓区。[4]1958年11月，为兴建“南盛引鉴”工程，茂名县超英公社石鼓乡境内引鉴工业干渠以南的南盛圩、南盛、平垌等地，与化县山尾乡的旺山、山尾、蒲山、谢村、东方红、百室堂、乐堂等生产大队，共10个大队合在一起，成立南盛人民公社，归化州县管，社址在南盛圩。[4]

1983年，公社改为南盛区；1985年，区又改为南盛镇；2003年11月，南盛镇被撤销，原地设南盛街道。[1][4]

地名由来[edit]

此地明代称“南洲”，因位于鉴江之畔、高州府茂名县的南部而得名，后来在此建圩，称南洲圩，万历年间的《高州府志》已有记载。到清乾隆年间，茂名县知县林炯将“南洲”易名“南盛”，寓意人口与财富都兴旺。[2]

地理环境[edit]

街道东面与茂南区公馆镇相邻，南面到鉴江开发区，西隔鉴江同丽岗镇相对，北面连着高州市石鼓镇。[1]地处化州、高州与茂南“两市一区”交界地带，气候属亚热带季风气候。[1][3]

2020年10月前后的统计显示，地区生产总值为22.35亿元，同比下降1.3%；财税总收入2414万元，同比增长10.5%；完成固定资产投资1.68亿元；规模以上工业产值9.52亿元，消费品零售额1.58亿元。[1]
