1961年，原义胜、山美两乡各划出一部分，合设一个大队，各取乡名中的一字，定名义山。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1961年设立义山大队；1983年起称义山乡；义山农村管理区一名始于1986年；1999年改由村民委员会管理，至今未变。[1]
