新城社区是广东省湛江市吴川市梅菉街道下辖的社区。名称来历：1960年代梅菉街道新开发的区域，因此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

该地在1961年至1997年5月称黄竹尾管理区，隶属大山江镇；此后划给梅菉镇，更名新城管理区；1999年改成居委会。[1]

概况[edit]

新城社区在吴川市区东南，面积1.8平方千米，约5645人，设4个居民小组。[1][2] 据该页所写，社区近两年修了2.4公里水泥路，另辟3000多平方米的文体场地。[2]

2019年9月，该社区列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
