1954年起为马铁乡，1959年起叫马铁大队，1984年起复为马铁乡，1987年2月起有村民委员会，1989年起为管理区办事处，1999年定名为马铁村民委员会。[1]

2019年9月，马铁村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
