松竹镇在广东省湛江市，隶属雷州市，位于该市中南部，政府驻地松竹圩，距雷州市区13千米。四邻为南兴镇、杨家镇、龙门镇和白沙镇。2020年人口普查登记的常住人口为50652人[1]。全镇现辖1个社区、16个行政村[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立初期，这一带归海康县第二区管辖[1]。其后建制屡有变动：松竹乡始设于1957年；翌年并入雷南县的先锋公社，三年后转属南兴公社；到1979年1月才脱离南兴，自成松竹公社；1984年公社改为区公所，1987年4月区公所撤销，改置松竹镇[2]。

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网转述的说法，镇政府驻地处在松溪和根竹两个村之间，镇名由此而来[2]。

地理环境[edit]

镇域地处雷州市中部，位于南渡河中游，属热带季风气候[1][2]。面积在百度百科中记为67.93平方千米，博雅地名网则记为约93.33平方千米，两处数字不同，条目并列二者[1][2]。

经济[edit]

博雅地名网的介绍称，镇内耕地4万多亩，土地由西洋一带平原构成，灌溉便利，是商品粮产区之一，粮食年产量在3万吨以上[2]。乡镇企业的门类包括：粮食加工、竹品编织、木地板、造纸、制砖、废品回收，以及淡水珍珠养殖[2]。其中竹编制品（鱼篓、果篓、外运菜篓）一年500多万只，木地板一年30多万平方米[2]。该介绍所述为较早年份的情况，原文未注明年份。

据2019年的统计，镇内工业企业共23家，规模以上的有2家[1]。

名胜古迹[edit]

黄唯一墓坐落于东园村的乡贤岭，坟前堆有封土，朝向为东；其侄黄本固的墓在它前方十来米处[3]。

荣誉[edit]

松竹镇获「2023年广东省卫生乡镇」称号（2024年3月命名），又于2026年3月被认定为「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村镇」[2]。
