龙发社区是徐闻县龙塘镇的居民委员会，位于县城东面约18公里、龙塘墟西侧，原是国营龙塘糖厂的厂区和职工住宅区。[1]

由来与沿革[edit]

龙塘糖厂始建于1976年，1978年投产，日榨糖能力在2000吨以上，2000年关闭，厂区改为镇下辖的居委会，2003年定名龙发社区。[1]「龙发」取居民盼子成龙、后人发奋之意。[1]

现状[edit]

社区总占地约13万平方米，有1080人，没有耕地，居民都是原糖厂职工及家属。原来的宿舍区和压榨、动力、煮炼、酵母等车间已改作住宅，社区内现有手套厂、酒精厂和农产品包装加工企业。[1]2019年9月，龙发社区列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2023年5月，龙发居民小组获评2022年广东省卫生村。[1]
