历史沿革[edit]
早先村民委员会设在长间村，1989年起迁到公安墟，村名沿用[1]。
清代隶属开平县长静都，民国年间划入第二区北溪新乡。新中国成立后归第一区，1955年为马冈区公安乡，1961年成立长间大队，归公安公社管辖。1963年涧渡村从曲水田大队并入；1975年，东华村划给公安大队，高坡村划给联冈大队。此后建制依次改为乡（1984年）和管理区（1989年）；开平1993年撤县设市时划归马冈镇，到1999年成为村民委员会[1]。
人口民族[edit]
村委会管辖区的人口为2560人（685户），其中劳动力约1527人[1][2]。
经济[edit]
村集体2009年的收入为8万元，农民人均年收入为3030元[1]；村里有党员47人[1]。
文化[edit]
2019年9月，长间村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单[1]。
