高元村是江门市开平市马冈镇所辖的行政村之一，村委会在镇区东面，距镇政府1公里[1]。下分9个村民小组，村情材料记载人口2100人、450户，耕地1500亩[1]。

村委会管辖区的人口为2100人（450户），其中劳动力约1400人[1][2]。

经济[edit]

村集体2009年的收入为5.3万元，农民人均年收入为2500元[1]；村里有党员26人[1]。

村集体的收入以鱼塘、土地出租和校舍租赁为主，约65%的劳动力外出务工[2]。江门市政府网报道，红丰村与该村（报道写作高园村）合作，用一所闲置的学校建设马冈鹅预制菜研发推广中心和马冈凉粉研发推广中心；该村还与另外几个村委会合作，为养殖场供应马冈鹅的谷物饲料和疫苗[3]。

2019年9月，列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单；2020年8月，列入「首批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」名单，项目为马冈鹅；2020年12月，列入「2020年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单；2026年1月，获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」[1]。
