联光村是开平市沙塘镇西北部的行政村，紧邻镇政府，含5条自然村，分13个村民小组，719户，共2695人，耕地1120亩。[1]

地名由来[edit]

新中国成立初期，把书厦、福岗、兴贤、桥头、小海园五个自然村并成一个大队，取「联合光荣」之意定名联光。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代在开平县平康都的范围内，到民国时期归第一区真兴乡，1949年后归第十区长沙塘乡。1961年编入苍城公社，名联光大队，翌年改隶沙塘公社。[1]

1984年设联光乡；1992年起隶属沙塘镇，名联光管理区；1999年定为联光村民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

土地等资源缺乏，集体收入以酒楼出租为主，2009年为3.7万元；农民人均年收入6006元，约半数劳动力外出务工。[1]

著名人物[edit]

镇的介绍称，黄花岗七十二烈士之一劳培的故居在联光村，并设有爱国主义教育基地。劳培（1886—1911）祖籍开平，1905年赴新加坡加入中国同盟会，1911年4月参加黄花岗起义牺牲。[2][3]
