梅北村是广东省江门市新会区沙堆镇中部的行政村，土地面积13平方千米，由梅湾、沙湾、大湾三个自然村组成。其位置在镇政府驻地之北，加上梅湾村规模较大，村名因此叫梅北[1]。全村10个村民小组、1090户、3521人（集体收入为2009年数据）[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

相传洪武年间（1368—1398年），张姓先祖由会城迁来定居，接着有林姓先祖自福建迁到，立村称梅湾。乾隆年间（1736—1795年），林、张、余几姓先祖又在近处分别另立沙湾和大湾。康熙县志记有大湾、梅湾，属潮居都四图；道光县志图说已见沙湾村[1]。

民国时，梅湾与沙湾同属第八区沙梅乡，大湾则属那独乡。1951年梅湾设为梅北乡，大湾划入那大乡[1]。

经济与荣誉[edit]

全村山地约8530亩，耕地约2585亩，另有鱼塘2031亩、其他用地569亩；有卫生站1个，党员99人，村「两委」干部5名；集体收入以鱼塘为主，2009年为254.57万元[1]。梅北村在2021年12月获评「2021年广东省卫生村」，2026年3月被认定为第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇（省级）[1]。
