沙东村是广东省江门市新会区沙堆镇的一个行政村，在镇中部，因处于沙堆圩的东面而得名[1]。博雅地名网载有全村土地4340亩，4个村民小组、507户、1737人，集体收入以鱼塘为主（集体收入为2009年数据）[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
清乾隆二年（1737年），会城的廖姓、番禺的胡姓、福建的李姓和杜阮的黄姓等先后迁来，在此立村。道光年间的县志图说里，这一带称「南边」村[1]。
民国时这里归第八区的沙梅乡（亦称双沙乡）。1951年，沙角同「沙堆村东」合并，组成沙东乡。人民公社时期，先是分为升堂、南安、南边三个大队，到1965年合成一个沙东大队。改革开放后，该地先称沙东乡，1986年起设沙东村委会，后来曾一度叫管理区[1]。
经济与荣誉[edit]
按博雅地名网的村情，村里鱼塘最多，约1830亩，其次为山地约1600亩，耕地约400亩；另有其他用地510亩。村内设卫生站，党员57人，「两委」干部6名[1]。沙东村在2021年12月获广东省爱卫会授予「2021年广东省卫生村」，并在2026年1月被评为广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村[1]。
