六里村在双水镇北面，距新会城区13公里，交通方便，村名因它由六个自然村组成：崩坎、达堂、东头、张屋、马屋、阮屋。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明洪武初年（1368年—1379年），这一带成陆后，司前、牛湾、杜阮等地的农民陆续来此定居。[1] 民国时属第六区小冈乡，1951年已有「六里」之名，隶属梅冈乡；其后属罗坑区、五堡管理区，1961年归小冈人民公社，1980年代改称乡、村委会，2002年1月并入双水镇辖区。[1]

经济[edit]

村域面积约2平方千米，设6个村民小组，有330户、1079人，劳动力560多人，耕地1211亩，其中水稻565亩、鱼塘504亩。[1] 村里的工业主要有卫生香制造和五金加工。[1]
