金溪社区在江门市江海区外海街道，东靠茶庵公园，南面到白水带风景区，西边与江南街道相连，北面是西江河，辖区面积约1.53平方公里。[1] 社区2004年由村改制而来，原有的村民小组随之取消。[1]

社区修通了贯穿全境的金溪大道，开设农村书屋、老人之家、文体广场和5处特色公园。[1] 社区推行居民公约积分管理，曾获「国家森林乡村」「广东省森林乡村」「全国综合减灾示范社区」「广东省「六好」文明和谐社区」等称号。[1]
