四大社区的全称是「江门市江海区外海街道四大社区居民委员会」，在外海街道北部：北面是清兰社区，东面是沙津横社区，南面是直冲村，西面是石鹤利社区。[1][2] 辖区面积1.5平方公里，下设4个村民小组，居民以陈姓为主。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
社区名里的「四」和「大」，分别取自外海的四里和大康市。[1] 社区是2004年撤村建立的；此前，1999年撤区建村，1980年称管理区，1963年称四大大队，1953年则属新会县第四区的同联乡。[1][2]
人口民族[edit]
街道办事处网站介绍，户籍人口622人，分属200户；居民代表22名，外来流动人口5378人。[2]
经济[edit]
辖区有非公有制企业80多家，经营电子、电池、织造、灯饰等行业，社区2023年的经济收入为650多万元。[2] 近年社区拆除危房，新建公共停车场和篮球场，并绘制了墙绘来整治居住环境。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
外海陈氏的五大祠坐落在四大村的杏林路上。[3]
文化[edit]
社区党支部2005年1月建立，有党员20名。[2] 社区获得过「江门市文明单位」「江门市先进基层党组织」「江门市卫生村」等称号。[2]
