建星村在里水镇西北部，辖区总面积7.2平方千米，下辖上塱、天竺岗、文东、文南4个村民小组[1]。
明清时属南海县金利司的桃子堡，其中上塱在清康熙二十五年（1686年）被划给花县，同治年间划回南海[2]。
经济与建设[edit]
村简介称，常住人口2251人，耕地2980亩（含鱼塘545亩）；中信大道和美景大道在村内交叉；辖区内的“中信山语湖”是南海区重点项目，占地7000亩，正在建设[1]。
2003年，建星村被评为「广东省卫生村」；2006年，被评为「佛山市生态示范村」；2019年9月进入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单；2020至2022年连续三年列入淘宝村名单[1][2]。
