布新村是里水镇下辖的行政村；据介绍，宋末年间，南雄珠玑巷的李姓人迁到七星岗边开村[1]。

村址原先背对岗心，起初叫“背心”村，明嘉靖年间迁到新址，取谐音改称布新，寓意“除旧布新”[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

1960年自岗美大队划出，另立布新大队；此后1987年称村委会，1989年起叫管理区，1999年管理区改为行政村，仍称布新村委会[1]。

经济[edit]

布新村2020至2022年连续三年列入淘宝村名单[1]。
