麻奢村是里水镇下辖的行政村，村名取自陈宁的号“麻奢”[1]。

据麻奢陈氏族谱和历代《南海县志》，陈宁（937至1032年）字田心，原籍英州浛洸麻奢草市，南汉大宝三年（960年）迁居南海田心里，为不忘祖籍，以号作村名[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

旧称“麻奢堡”，建国前归南海县第二区建安乡，建国初改叫群建乡；1958年为群建大队，1969年设大队革命委员会；1980年后叫麻奢管理区，十九年后（1999年）改制为行政村，名麻奢村委会[2]。

经济[edit]

麻奢村2020至2022年连续三年列入淘宝村名单[2]。
