1958年由四个村联合，称四村联社（联建片），此后名称几经变化，2011年“村改居”设居民委员会[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

1958年是四村联社（联建片）；1960年改为大步大队；1968年叫大步革命委员会；1983年为大步乡；1985年为大步管理区；1998年改称大步村委会；2011年撤销村委会，设大步居民委员会[2]。

人口与荣誉[edit]

社区简介称，户籍人口2230人，常住668户，另有外来流动人口约3900人；辖区设有社区服务中心、休闲体育公园和大步幼儿园[1]。2019年9月，大步社区进入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单[2]。
