石江原名石岗，但村里并无山岗，四周环水，后来改叫石江。[1]

农业以水产养殖为主，工业以五金、家具和纺织加工为主，电商和物流近年发展较快。[1]

社区内设有石江小学和幼儿园，还有曲艺社、卫生站以及一支醒狮队。[1]
