平西社区位于佛山市南海区桂城街道，因处在平洲之西而得名，开村时间早于宋代庆元元年（1195年）。[1] 博雅地名网社区简介记总面积为3.5平方千米（另一处为2.3平方千米），下辖10个村民小组（经济社），全社区有近三百家企业，以制鞋、五金、熔铸为主。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

平西旧称西乡，1950年起称平西乡，此后依次经历人民委员会、大队、管理区，1999年成为村委会，2011年「村改居」后设居民委员会。[1] 2019年9月，平西社区列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
