新乡村是南澳县后宅镇的行政村，位于县城区内，是一个以海洋捕捞为主的渔村。村名来自清末后宅林、李两姓富户在此建屋成片，取“立新”之意[1][3]。据博雅地名网，总人口1700多人[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

新乡在1950年3月的隆西乡渔民协会里排第二分会，之后先后称渔业第二生产大队、第二大队、第二管区，1984年随公社撤销而属后宅镇；1986年12月设新乡村民委员会，1991年一度称管理区，1998年恢复村民委员会之名，沿用至今[2]。

经济[edit]

全村八成以上的人口从事海洋捕捞，当地有“一渔兴百业”的说法。作业方式有拖网、流刺、钓业和笼捕，共有捕捞机动船28艘（拖网5、流刺14、钓业5，其余14艘为别的类型），近海作业的竹排机近百只[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2022年8月，新乡村又被定为「2022年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；2019年9月，该村名列「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」之中[1]。
