历史沿革[edit]
村名与自然村「新村」有关：它比周边村落立村晚，故叫新村，行政村也以此命名；整村建于明隆庆三年（1569年）。[1] 新中国成立后叫新乡乡，属中山县第九区；公社时期（1965年起）是新乡大队，由斗门公社管；1984年复称乡，1986年定名新乡村委会，名称沿用。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村域有山林5000亩，耕地2514亩，其中稻田2198亩、鱼塘1000亩、经济作物1300亩。[2]
人口民族[edit]
610户人家、2610名常住居民，12个村民小组，村民代表37人。[2]
荣誉[edit]
新乡村名列2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位（2019年9月公布）。[1] 2008年，村里出资70万元修了八百多米的水泥路巷。[2]
