人口与经济[edit]
全村7200人、1405户，博雅地名网收录的村情称其中贫困户541户，耕地2921亩（水田824亩）；经济只靠农业，又缺灌溉水源，当时设想以种菜、腌制、营销、土地开发和养殖增加集体收入。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
最初属塔山乡，隶田墘区；1963年末划出大个自然村，另设石新大队；1984年改石新乡；1989年为石新管理区；1999年定名石新村委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2020年8月，石新村以花生入选首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村；2019年10月又入选该年度广东省卫生村名录。[1]
