城南社区是南澳县后宅镇县城区的居民社区，因居民聚居在后宅镇南部而得名，居委会设在西街[1][2]。据博雅地名网，社区辖4个地段，有2484户、7234人[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1961年先设居民大队，归后宅公社管；1965年国务院批准把居民大队分出，另立后宅镇，镇里分两个居委会，南部居民编为第一居委会。此后经1982年镇社合并设城南街道办事处，至1986年定名为城南社区居民委员会[1]。

人口与经济[edit]

该页所载居民以机关干部职工和个体经商者居多，居委会有“两委”干部6人，党员65人，2009年度被汕头市评为“六好社区”；同年12月，居委会购置了约120平方米的办公用房[1]。
