中社村在汕头市澄海区盐鸿镇，位于盐灶旧乡的中心，南临澄饶联围，隔海与饶平海山相对，背倚莲花山，东邻上社村，西接上厝村。[1]

名称与历史[edit]

相传宋末刘布袋在今中社村刘厝池顶开基，其他姓氏随后聚居，因处盐灶乡中部而名中社。[1]1960年盐灶生产大队分出中社生产大队；1984年设中社乡，1986年设中社村；1998年9月起设中社村，沿用至今。[2]

经济[edit]

全村土地776亩，山地1817亩，鱼塘890亩。2009年有1101户、4440人，集体总产值3484万元，其中工业1630万元、农业1854万元。村里依托324国道发展运输、加工制造、饲料、建材、玩具工艺和餐饮等行业，鱼脯加工、薄壳米加工、玩具加工、货运中转是主要产业。[3]
