宅美村在北港运河中下游，三面被运河环绕，北接潮港村，南邻岐美村；村建在一处古住宅的末端，原称宅尾村，后改雅称宅美。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
黄姓先人在成化年间（1465—1487）自福建平和迁来建村；1958年起为宅美农业生产大队，1984年改为乡，1986年改设村委会。[1]
人口经济[edit]
2980人（524户），区域面积1.3平方千米，耕地975亩（水田846亩、旱地129亩）；有38个家庭作坊，加工服装、文胸、文具、纸箱。[1]
