塘围社区在汕头市潮阳区和平镇南面，位于练江下游南岸，总面积2.48平方公里。[1]

地名与历史[edit]

塘围这个名字，来自塘兜、招才围、范厝围，再加门口围、猪母围和马厝围这几处聚落的合并。村志类材料称南宋景定年间（1260—1264年），祖先从福建来此捕鱼定居；1949年至1951年下寨、里美、塘围三乡合为里美乡，1952年塘围又分出。1958年隶和平公社，1986年建村委会，1999年又改居民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

简介称社区有1931户、11030人，耕地1386亩，以种养殖业为主（简介未注年份）。[1]2020年8月，塘围社区（水稻）入选首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单。[1]
