中寨社区是汕头市潮阳区和平镇镇政府所在的社区，位于镇的中心，辖区面积3.4平方公里。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

相传唐天祐年间（905—907年）已有先祖在此立村。南宋景炎三年（1278年），文天祥率军抗元经过，倡议把这一带改称和平里，原村分作上、中、下三寨，这里居中，故称中寨村，社区之名也因处在和平里中部而来。[1]

1958年起为中寨大队，隶和平公社；1984年改作中寨乡；1986年改称中寨村委会，1988年改叫管理区，1999年又改居民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

经济[edit]

简介称社区有13408人、2300户、党员216人，企业53家，产品以塑料制品、光盘、化妆品、服装为主（简介未注年份）。[1]2017年10月，社区获广东省爱国卫生运动委员会授予第一批广东省卫生村称号。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

据维基百科的文物列表，灵泉寺位于中寨居委，宋大峰墓位于中寨村，均为潮阳区文物保护单位；灵泉寺的所在，百度百科则写作和平管区桥尾山。[2][3]
