西田村在汕头市潮阳区河溪镇桑田片区，北临榕江出海口，西与西胪镇乌石村相隔，以养殖虾蟹为主，所产蟹称“桑田膏蟹”。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名取“沧海变桑田”之意，因在桑田村西部而名。[2]村中有一座名“屿”的小丘陵，先人以它为界，分成屿东社、屿西社两寨，沿用至今。[1]

经济[edit]

村有2260户10789人（该页未注明年份），农田一千多亩，以水稻为主，多数村民外出打工；水质半咸半淡，适合养虾蟹，人均纯收入在2013年为4034元。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

屿边的双忠圣王庙，据村中所述有一千多年历史，已列为区级文物保护单位。[1]
