五三社区是汕头市潮阳区棉北街道下辖的社区，在街道东北部，东邻五二社区，北至棉田社区，西至蝴蝶社区，南至平北社区[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

先人在明洪武元年（1368年）创村，因早年种植棉花，称棉田村，后分为大棉田、小棉田两个聚落，本村为小棉田村；1950年成立五联片区，该村排第三，改叫五三村；1988年成为管理区，1999年成为居委会[1]。

地理环境与人口[edit]

居委占地约0.7平方公里，337户、1870人，有水田120亩、山林400亩，另有果园和鱼塘[2]。二十世纪九十年代以前以农耕为主，国道324线穿过后形成中小企业与第三产业并存的工业区[2]。

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，社区进了广东省2018年度“民主法治示范村（社区）”的创建名单；2021年12月获评当年的广东省卫生村[1]。
