白竹社区是汕头市潮阳区棉北街道下辖的社区，位于棉城北侧，距潮阳城区约5公里，村子创建于明洪武年间（1368—1398年）[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
相传村前海水白茫茫，村边山上长满野生的石竹仔，因此称白竹[1]。居民早年在沿海滩涂一带居住，立寨营生[1]。
经济[edit]
区域面积约2.5平方公里，常住人口约4500人，以农业为主，种植水稻、红薯、姜薯、香芋、生姜、大蒜等[1]。
荣誉[edit]
白竹先后有三项记录：2019年9月，它进了广东省2018年度“民主法治示范村（社区）”的创建名单；2021年12月，获评当年的广东省卫生村；2026年3月，又被认定为省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇[1]。
