溪头是汕头市濠江区广澳街道的社区，在濠江出海口，东濒南海，西临濠江，背靠汕头保税区。它因位于濠江（古称河渡溪）的起首、即出海口而得名，旧名渏濠乡，民国初年改称溪头村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明代中期，洪、吕、何等姓（今已无）迁来捕鱼建村，随后宋、徐、章、吴、郑等姓入居，聚落成形，起名溪头；一说村发祥于万历年间。旧属潮阳县招收都。[2][3]

民国时划入潮阳县第三区的南衡乡；1957年并入达濠镇，1959年与大蔚、河渡、三寮、埭头五村编为下五大队；1984年恢复溪头村之名，归下五乡；1987年称村委会，隶广澳乡；1989年归入特区的广澳管理局，1992年起由广澳街道管辖，1999年6月管理区撤销，改设溪头居委会，2003年起属濠江区。[3]

地理环境[edit]

社区地势平坦，东濒南海，西临濠江，毗邻青州盐场，北接埭头，南邻大蔚，面积约1平方千米，除已被国家征用的以外，有耕地300亩、工业用地250亩、居住用地100亩。[2]

经济[edit]

产业以种植、养殖和工业为主：种青蒜、花生、蔬菜，养虾和蛤类，工业有造纸、塑料、陶瓷，有纸业、塑料、彩瓷3家企业，约600人就业，年产值1000万元上下。社区有小学一所，教师18人，学生280人。[2]
