和平社区在深圳市坪山区坪山街道，辖区面积2.5平方千米，位于街道中心，四周分别是东纵路、金牛西路、深汕路、金山路四条主干道。[1][2]官方公布的常住人口约0.86万，户籍人口约0.16万。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区由原坪山居委会和原坪环居委会合并而成，“合坪”谐音“和平”，故名。[3]

辖区与经济[edit]

社区管辖马东、马西、黄果坜3个居民小组，以及中兴西小区。[1]博雅地名网早年的介绍称，社区没有股份公司，但凭借区位被称作“坪山的商务中心区”：辖区内有约30家企业，坪山商业步行街上有银行网点、综合商场和600多家品牌商户。[2]同一页介绍写道，该页统计的居民为3715户，其中户籍1491人，外来11709人。[2]

文化与荣誉[edit]

社区保留了客家传统的麒麟舞，用于节庆和健身。[2]曾获2011年12月深圳市卫生村、2013年3月“三八”红旗集体等荣誉。[2]
