新和社区在深圳市宝安区福海街道西北部，南边隔着深圳机场，西面是珠江口，北邻桥头一带的工业园区，面积7.8平方千米。它由新和村委会改制而来，村名即社区名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1986年12月，新和从和平分出，成立新和村委会，下设五个生产队，后改称新和一队至五队。1993年属宝安区福永镇；2004年城市化改制后，改称福永街道新和社区居民委员会，后随福海街道设立划归其管辖。[1][2]

另据和平社区的沿革，新和之名可追溯到1980年：当年原和平大队一分为三，其中第6至10生产队组成新和大队。[3]

人口民族[edit]

社区早年的资料称，户籍人口1366人、622户，其中陈姓最多，占原居民的25.9%，其余有黄、郭、梁、张、黎、何、霍等姓；另有流动人口约8万。[1]

经济[edit]

新和是典型的城中村，据社区工作站统计，有村民自建楼997栋；出租屋36461套（间）；2613间店铺。社区内有新兴工业园（分若干区）、天瑞工业园等11个工业园区，400多家企业以电子、五金为主。社区分新和一区、二区、三区、五区及东西区五个小区。[1]

新和社区在2022年8月获评「第二批深圳市绿色（宜居）社区」。[2]
