背迳村是南雄市坪田镇下辖的行政村，下分14个村小组和18个自然村，441户、1979人，耕地1929亩（村情材料未注明年份）[1]。2024年3月，它获评2023年度广东省卫生村[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

村名的解释是：“背”和“担”同属搬运动作，“迳”与“劲”同音，背迳又处在全村中央，含有背着东西走中间这条路之意[1][2]。村的前身是1950年的背迳农会，之后经初级社、高级社、大队、乡、管理区，1998年设立村民委员会[1]。

耕地几乎全是水田，旱地仅51亩，以种植水稻和花生为主[1]。
