村里栽种荔枝、龙眼，水田里种水稻和花生。村委会介绍说，这里地理位置较好，有电缆厂等企业落户。[1]

从化区人民政府于2015年发布的历史建筑与传统风貌建筑推荐线索名单中，列有本村的启宗黄公祠、上大埔传统民居群、张氏宗祠，共3处。名单所列只是普查线索，不等于已定级的文物。[2]
